Privacy Policy – Family Track

Family Track ("we", "our", "us") is a private, real-time location sharing app designed for family groups. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your choices.

1) Data We Collect

• Location data (precise): Used to show real-time location to members of your private group.
• Basic profile info: A display name you enter to identify you in a group.
• Group code: Used to join a private group.
• Device and app data (limited): Used for reliability (e.g., notification permissions, background tracking).
• Push notification token (FCM): Used to deliver user-initiated refresh requests.

2) How We Use Data

• Provide real-time location sharing within your private group.
• Improve reliability of background location updates.
• Send user-initiated refresh requests.
• Maintain session state and app functionality.

3) Data Sharing

• Only your private group can see your shared location.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not show ads.

4) Data Storage & Security

Data is stored securely using Firebase (Google). Access to data is restricted to authenticated group members and app services.

5) Background Location

Family Track collects location data in the background to enable real-time sharing even when the app is not open. You can stop sharing at any time by leaving the group or disabling location permissions.

6) Your Choices

• Stop sharing: Leave the group or disable location permissions.
• Delete data: When you leave a group, your location data is removed.
• Notifications: You can disable notifications in device settings.

7) Children’s Privacy

Family Track is intended for family use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children outside the context of family-managed use. Parents/guardians should supervise use.
